There will have been many who are associated with the club who felt emotional once the game was up, which was the case with Jack Grealish, as he was filmed on the floor after the final whistle.

Villa fans were split in their reaction to seeing this, however, when the video made its way onto Twitter.

There were some who felt desperately sorry for their homegrown talisman, with one saying “that breaks my heart”, while another said “we’re all with you”.

Grealish has been in superb form for the club this term, scoring nine goals and assisting a further six in 27 starts and two substitute appearances across the Premier League and Carabao Cup.

If Villa stay in the Premier League then he will be a massive part of the reason why, so to see him slumped on the Wembley turf was hard for some to take.

However, there were some who were critical of the 24-year-old’s performance on the day, with one saying “he never turned up” and another claiming he “was bad today”.

Grealish was quiet by his standards, taking no shots, making one key pass and one dribble, while completing just 75% of the passes that he attempted and failing to make any defensive contributions.

This has left some fans frustrated by the fact that he didn’t quite have the impact on the game they would have hoped.
