The transfer window may have been closed for over a week now but Everton’s business might not actually be done.
In a rather remarkable report from 90min, it is claimed that the Toffees have been offered the chance to sign former Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery.
They suggest that the Frenchman would be open to a move to Goodison Park but he also has offers on the table from America and Asia.
Everton fans took to Twitter to respond to the news, appearing divided on whether he’d be a good acquisition for Marco Silva’s men.
One supporter claimed he’d be amazed if it happened whilst a further individual said he was a tremendous player.
However, there was also a negative reaction from some quarters. A fan said that it would be a backwards move after clearing out ageing players. One, meanwhile, said he was too old.
Aged 36, Ribery left Bayern in the summer after years of valuable service. For the German club, he scored 124 goals in 425 matches. He also laid on 182 goals for his teammates.
Here’s the best of the discussion.
