Ahead of La Liga's El Partidazo event in New York, Kluivert told GOAL: "Every time I come to America, you see much more enthusiastic fans and people talking more about football. Now, of course, with all due respect, Messi coming to MLS brings a big audience with him. Don't underestimate the growth of football in the country."

Kluivert enjoyed a glittering career for Barcelona, scoring 90 goals in 182 league appearances, while winning the 1998-99 league title with the Blaugrana. He is set to appear at La Liga's El Partidazo fan event on March 17 – where he will be the special guest as Barcelona take on Atletico Madrid.
