Milinkovic-Savic had been the talk of the town when it came to potential midfield signings for the Red Devils ever since his rise to fame in 2019 with Lazio. However, the move never really came to fruition as I Biancocelesti's demands for the midfielder almost remained too high before he eventually moved to Al-Hilal for €40 million (£34m/$43.4m) with his contract running out. Tare has revealed that the club rejected a huge bid of €100 million (£85.4m/$108.5m) from the Premier League side and AC Milan as well.

"Many things have been said about Milinkovic-Savic that are not true, from losing him as a free agent to the idea he didn’t want to stay," Tare told TV Play [via Football Italia].
"The only true thing is that President Claudio Lotito rejected a very important offer, worth over €100m, from Milan and Manchester United. I don’t want to get into why the sale did not go through, as Lotito wanted to maintain a strong squad and keep the promises he had made to the coach."
"Let us not forget that the season which was interrupted by COVID, Lazio were on the verge of winning the Scudetto."

Recently, it has been rumoured that the Serbian is not happy in the Middle East. It was reported earlier this week that he told his former teammates at Lazio that he was unhappy and wanted to return to the Italian capital. He was one of the multiple players who moved to Saudi in the summer but have since wanted to leave the country due to varying issues.

The Serbian may very well stay put in Saudi Arabia at least until the summer as the January transfer window slowly draws to a close. The midfielder will likely be a part of Al-Hilal's next game when they take on Inter Miami in a friendly on Monday, January 29.
