Reports claim Manchester United have made a late swoop for Ajax starlet David Neres, and fans are baffled by the move.
According to Esporte UOL, the Red Devils have seen a €60m (£55.4m) bid rejected, as Ajax boss Erik ten Hag wants the Brazilian to stay and sign a new contract.
Neres, 22, is being offered a new deal to extend his stay in Amsterdam, says the report, but it seems United are testing their luck with a late bid.
Of course, £55.4m is no small amount of money, and isn’t far off the types of fees being tossed around for the likes of Bruno Fernandes.
