Mere days after Yoro swapped Lille for United in a £52 million ($68m) deal, the 18-year-old has been named in their squad to face Rangers on Saturday afternoon. Jadon Sancho, who was jettisoned from the Red Devils first-team group early last season after a falling out with manager Erik ten Hag, is also involved, but Marcus Rashford misses out with a 'niggle'.

This match acts as a chance for Ten Hag to see French teenager Yoro in action, albeit in a pre-season friendly. Incidentally, the fact that Sancho – who the club have been trying to sell and spent the second half of last term on loan at former team Borussia Dortmund – has been included in the squad is an interesting development and raises further questions about his Old Trafford future.
