According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris fears that he will be a high-profile casualty of Jose Mourinho’s rebuild at the north London outfit, and so he should be.
What’s the word, then?
Well, Football Insider report that the France international, who they describe as ‘untouchable’ when Mourinho’s predecessor Mauricio Pochettino was at the helm, has told friends that he believes he is heading for the scrapheap under the former Manchester United and Chelsea manager.
The report says that the 33-year-old, who joined Spurs in 2012 for a fee that could rise to £11.8m, was one of the closest players to the Argentine off of the pitch, which probably explains why he was such a consistent member of the starting XI – along with his experience and quality, of course.

Football Insider add that Lloris believes the new head coach will look to bring in a new number one, although their sources tell them it won’t happen in January, but more likely next summer.
Long time coming
Lloris should be worried, because this has been a long time coming.
It all really started in the 2018 World Cup final when his error led to a goal for Mario Mandzukic, but luckily it didn’t cost his nation a famous tournament victory.
The same can’t be said for other occasions though, rushing out of his goal against Barcelona and PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League in 2018 – allowing Philippe Coutinho to score in the fomer and receiving a red card in the latter after bringing Hirving Lozano down.
He then made a mistake against Liverpool earlier this year, before gifting Southampton striker Danny Ings a simple tap-in back in September.
While he did get injured in the process, he arguably should have done much better with the cross against Brighton and Hove Albion last month, too.

All in all then, it appears as though the north London outfit can’t afford to rely on the Frenchman like they once did, and considering he is getting no younger it would be no surprise at all if Mourinho looked to bring in a new, younger stopper in the next couple of transfer windows.
If he does, then Lloris can only really have himself to blame.
