Mason Greenwood has been subjected to more 'die' chants during his loan spell at Getafe from Premier League giants Manchester United.

The 22-year-old forward headed to Spain at the end of the summer transfer window in 2023. With there no way back for him at Old Trafford following his arrest on suspicion of attempted rape, assault and coercive control – despite those charges being dropped – the England international was allowed to leave for La Liga.

Greenwood made his debut for Getafe against Osasuna on September 17, as he stepped off the bench in a dramatic 3-2 win. He was targeted by the away support in that fixture, leading to Osasuna being handed a fine.

The same group of supporters were at it again when Getafe visited El Sadar on Sunday, with more cries of “Greenwood, die” raining down from the stands. According to , the Indar Gorri ultras group had urged all fans to condemn Greenwood’s presence on the field and the decision of La Liga president Javier Tebas to let the United-owned attacker play in Spain. Their statement read: “La Liga allows an arrestee accused of rape, grievous bodily harm and controlling and coercive behaviour to play in their competition. Once again, economic interests come ahead of the fight for a society without oppression. A RAPIST WILL PLAY IN OUR STADIUM ON SUNDAY.”

All charges against Greenwood were dropped in February 2023, freeing him to resume his professional career. He has registered five goals during his time in Spain, leading to reports of supposed interest from elsewhere, but was on the wrong end of another 3-2 scoreline when being reunited with Osasuna.
