Graham Roberts has been impressed with Leonardo Spinazzola’s performances at Euro 2020 and believes he would be a fantastic signing for Tottenham Hotspur.
Italy have emerged as one of the frontrunners for the competition after two genuinely terrific performances.
Roberto Mancini’s side opened their campaign with a 3-0 win over Turkey, and followed that up with an impressive 3-0 victory over Switzerland on Wednesday.
They subsequently became the first team to reach the knockout stages of the competition, with Roma’s Spinazzola an impressive performer.
The 28-year-old played in both games, emerging as an impressive performer with his continuous bursts forward, and while he has played at left wing-back, he is naturally right-footed which suggests he could replace the likes of Serge Aurier on the opposite flank.
Reports have suggested that Spurs are watching his performances, and new sporting director Fabio Paratici should be well aware of him given he has only recently left Juventus.
And Roberts thinks he would be a top signing; Transfermarkt value the full-back, who can play on the right or the left, at £23.4m.
Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, Roberts said: “He was brilliant. He was really, really good.
“Left wing-back, he was really, really good. I think he did look good the other night, I liked him. He was always in and around the goal area, he was always back.”
